Why Bowen is great for both the body and mind.

Why Bowen is great for both the body and mind.

At the BTPA, we feel that Bowen is great, but here are the top 10 reasons why you should think so too.

Bowen is:

  1. Encouraging, not invasive
  2. Natural and drug-free
  3. Helps aid the stress and start the relaxing
  4. Can be taken alongside medicine
  5. No side effects
  6. 3 treatments is usually enough (with possible long-term maintenance)
  7. Nationally available
  8. Can be used on everyone- children to elderly
  9. Can even be used on animals (note - not all animals)
  10. An alternative to conventional medicine

So in short, Bowen is a natural, drug-free, non-invasive complementary therapy that can combat stress. Bowen takes an encouraging approach by ‘asking’ the body to recognise and make the changes it requires rather than ‘making’.

The treatment lasts 30-60 minutes and 3 of these treatments is usually sufficient, with the possible need for additional treatments and long-term maintenance. During these treatments the Bowen practitioner makes small, rolling movements at precise points of the body over muscles, tendons, ligaments and soft tissue, using only the amount of pressure appropriate for the individual.

No hard-tissue manipulation or force is used and between each set of moves, the body is allowed to rest for a few minutes, to allow it to absorb the information it has received and initiate the healing process.

One Bowen client said: “The results I am experiencing are beyond my expectations”. Another said: “I will use this therapy again as it was wholly beneficial”. Read more of these testimonials here, giving you even more reasons to try Bowen for yourself.
