Could the intensity of Tour de France ruin Britain's chances?

Following our Wimbledon disappointment, it's good to see that Britain's hopes of winning Tour de France are looking promising.

Brit Bradley Wiggins is currently wearing the yellow jersey, meaning he’s leading, after his amazing stage nine performance yesterday.

This year, Tour de France is 2,173 miles, lasting a fortnight with only two rest days.

So far so good, but even the most thorough of stretches wouldn't be able to shift the lactic acid in the cyclists stiff muscles and aching joints.

The Bowen Technique works to heal muscular problems and sporting injuries in an extremely gentle but effective way.

Bowen is a natural, drug-free, non-invasive, complementary therapy that 'asks' the body to recognise the ailment and make the changes it requires as opposed to ‘forcing’the body change.

During the 30-60 minute treatment, the Bowen practitioner makes small, rolling, movements over muscles, tendons, ligaments and soft tissue at precise points on the body, using only the amount of pressure appropriate for that individual.

No hard-tissue manipulation or force is needed or used.

Between each set of moves, the body is allowed to rest for a few minutes, to allow it to absorb the information it has received and initiate the healing process.

One Bowen client said: "I was impressed with the way my therapist assessed my complaints and the treatment was given in a calm, professional way which made me relaxed.

"I have benefitted so much from the therapy and would recommend anyone to give it a try."
